Imam Jafar AlSadiq University (IJSU) in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) launching one of the Largest Renewable Solar Energy System over Iraqi Universities.

This is an important step toward Green Environment and Clean Power with a Capacity of up to 1.2 MW.
The implementation of the system is a part of a large planned project titled “Energy Futures on Campus in the Middle East: Teaching, Modelling and Realisation”. It is a co-fund project shared between Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University and the develoPPP Funding Programme on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) which is implemented by DEG Impulse as a member of the KFW Banking Group. This round of support is meant to develop private institutions by implementing sustainable development initiatives in the field of renewable energy. The project’s strategic plan is to reduce relying upon conventional power sources and creating a more sustainable university campus
