Cyber Extortion: Causes – Effects – Legal Confrontation

The Continuing Education Center organized an awareness workshop for first- and second-year students titled “Cyber Extortion: Causes – Effects – Legal Confrontation,” under the supervision of the Center’s director.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the risks of cyber extortion, its causes, and its psychological and social impacts, with a particular focus on prevention methods, especially for female students.
It also explained disciplinary penalties for students who engage in such behavior (which may include temporary suspension), as well as legal consequences that can reach up to 7 years of imprisonment under the Penal Code. The relevant authorities responsible for investigating these crimes were also identified.
The lecture was delivered by an assistant lecturer in criminal law, and the workshop witnessed active participation from students through discussions and questions.
