Reading in Al-Jaafari Law for Civil Status and Family Protection

Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Education Holds a Scientific Seminar on the Ja’fari Personal Status Law

As part of the requirements of the plan approved by the Women’s Affairs Department in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and with ongoing support from the Dean’s Office, the Women’s Affairs Unit in the College of Education at Al-Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq University (peace be upon him), in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center, organized a specialized scientific seminar titled:

“A Reading in the Ja’fari Personal Status Law and Family Protection”

The seminar featured a valuable lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. (Hamid Ali Radi Al-Dahlaki), attended by a group of faculty members and interested students.

Key topics of the seminar included:

•             Shedding light on the provisions of the Ja’fari Law approved by the House of Representatives in its previous session.

•             Clarifying the legal and social importance of the law in enhancing the protection of the family unit.

•             Outlining the jurisprudential and legal foundations upon which this legislation is based in regulating personal status matters.

This seminar comes as part of the College’s tireless efforts to raise the legal and social awareness among its students and staff, and to keep pace with legislations of concern to Iraqi society
