Who Can Register

Admission to the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Med Laboratory Technologies Department – Al-Imam Al-Sadiq University (PBUH) is open to students who have graduated from the scientific/biology branch of secondary school, in accordance with the regulations and requirements set by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and based on the minimum admission scores announced annually.

Applicants must meet all admission criteria, including official documentation, required GPA, and online application through the Directorate of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up.

The college accepts both male and female students under the morning or evening study systems, as approved by the university.

History

The Department of Medical Technologies was established in 2023 in response to the rapid advancement in medical sciences and the growing demand for specialized professionals who combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in the fields of diagnosis, treatment, and healthcare support. The establishment of the department came as part of the college/university’s academic expansion plan to meet labor market requirements and to provide advanced community health services.

Since its inception, the department has worked on developing comprehensive curricula that integrate both theoretical and practical aspects, in line with the latest advancements in pathological analyses, laboratory techniques, and modern medical applications. It aims to graduate qualified technical personnel capable of working in healthcare institutions and research centers, thereby contributing to the development of the health sector in Iraq and beyond.
