Our University Holds the Annual Festival Honoring Outstanding Students for the Academic Year 2024–2025

In continuation of its annual tradition, our university held its Annual Festival for Honoring Outstanding Students in the scientific departments and assessment examinations for the academic year 2024–2025 on Monday, October 27, 2025.
The ceremony began with the unveiling of the statue of the martyred scholar, Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr (may his soul be sanctified) by the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, His Eminence Sayyid Hussein Baraka al-Shami, accompanied by Dr. Abdul-Ilah al-Na’ili, Head of the Martyrs Foundation, and Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, Scientific Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
In his speech on the occasion, His Eminence Sayyid al-Shami emphasized that the martyred Imam al-Sadr represents a profound intellectual school whose rich principles and ideas opened new horizons for generations to draw from its abundant legacy of thought and reform.
Following the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, the Scientific Undersecretary of the Ministry, inaugurated the Book Fair, which featured participation from the Dar al-Islam Cultural Foundation and the Martyrs Foundation.
During the opening of the Student Honors Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Riyadh Khalil Ibrahim, President of the University, affirmed that the university continues to advance scientific and research processes aimed at expanding students’ knowledge and enhancing labor market capacities. He noted that this annual festival has become a commendable tradition that motivates students to pursue excellence and greater achievement.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, Scientific Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, praised Al-Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University as one of the leading private universities in Iraq, distinguished by its academic rigor and sound educational approach. He highlighted that it is the only private university in the country to possess its own publishing house, responsible for issuing scientific journals, and that it currently manages five journals indexed in Scopus and Clarivate international databases.
During the festival, His Eminence Sayyid al-Shami and the University President honored Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahad, while Prof. Dr. Riyadh Khalil Ibrahim, together with Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amer al-Mallah, and Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Fares Kamel Hassan, presented awards to outstanding students from various colleges and scientific departments. The ceremony concluded with the taking of commemorative photographs alongside college deans and honored guests.
At the end of the event, His Eminence Sayyid al-Shami and the University President presented shields of appreciation to Dr. Abdul-Ilah al-Na’ili, Head of the Martyrs Foundation, and Dr. Waleed al-Hilli, Advisor to the Prime Minister.
