Our University Welcomes the Country Director of the British Council in Iraq

Our university welcomed the Country Director of the British Council in Iraq, Mr. Richard Sunderland, accompanied by Ms. Sabah Hussein Ali, the Examinations Operations Manager in Iraq, during an official visit on Tuesday, 18 November 2025.

They were received by Prof. Riyadh Khalil Ibrahim, President of the University; Prof. Saad Al-Atrani, Dean of the College of Arts; Mr. Ghadir Ghazi Shaya, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department; and Dr. Saif Alaa Hussein, Director of Administrative Affairs.

The visit included a field tour of several academic centers and services across the university, with a detailed overview of the IELTS Examination Center, the UKVI Center, and the MRCP Center.
Mr. Sunderland expressed his admiration for the advanced level the university has achieved, particularly in the field of international examinations. He also commended the university staff, the quality of its infrastructure, and its strong commitment to international standards in delivering services to students and test-takers.

Mr. Richard Sunderland affirmed that these centers represent an important addition to the educational environment in Iraq and reflect the university’s vision in promoting quality and enhancing academic collaboration with institutions in higher education.
