History
The Accounting Department was established with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research through their letter No. 2006 dated 23/10/2016. It admits students who have graduated from secondary education in its branches (scientific, literary, and commercial). The Accounting Department is considered one of the fundamental scientific departments in the Colleges of Administration and Economics. The department aims through its programs to produce accountants and auditors who possess the capability and efficiency to meet the needs of state administrations and business institutions for accountants and those with financial and administrative expertise. It also aims for its graduates to effectively contribute to the development and pursuit of sustainable development in society and to support governmental units and the private sector with accounting, financial, and auditing expertise. Therefore, throughout the four-year study period, the accounting departments have adopted modern curricula according to the semester system (courses) and the Bologna process. Emphasis during the study period in the department is placed on practical and applied aspects in addition to theoretical material.
