The College of Law and Politics at Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University (peace be upon him) is regarded as one of the leading academic institutions dedicated to preparing and qualifying legal and political professionals capable of serving society and contributing to the building of modern state institutions. Since its establishment, the College has been keen to combine authenticity with modernity through curricula that keep pace with scientific and legislative developments, while also responding to the needs of the labor market.

The College hosts a distinguished group of professors and researchers and strives to instill values of justice, the rule of law, and respect for human rights, alongside fostering enlightened political thought grounded in dialogue and pluralism. It also pays special attention to scientific, research, and training activities that enhance students’ abilities and refine their practical skills.

In recognition of its pioneering role, the College continues to build academic and research partnerships with local and international institutions. This effort contributes to graduating a generation well-qualified to effectively develop Iraq’s legal and political infrastructure and to actively participate in shaping a future marked by greater justice and stability.

Preparing and graduating legal and political scientific competencies capable of meeting the needs of the public and private sectors, through understanding the needs of society and the labor market, excelling in legal and political education, and creating an academic environment that achieves freedom of thought, expression, and publication while responding to the requirements and needs of the era, and keeping pace with scientific development through the integration of theoretical study and practical application.

Vision

The college includes two departments: the Department of Law and the Department of Political Science. The college aims to build an aware generation that contributes to building the future of our beloved homeland by relying on modern teaching methods and a specialized academic staff.

Objectives

1- Meeting the requirements of all national institutional accreditation standards specific to higher education institutions.

2- Promoting legal culture and deepening its foundations aimed at developing the components of legal and political personality in its sound cognitive and scientific

formation.

3- Enhancing the necessary legal knowledge and skills and employing them to effectively and efficiently solve persistent problems from general to specific and from theoretical to practical.

4- Working to increase opportunities for practical application in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council, legal departments, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a manner that follows theoretical study with practical application.

5- Contributing to the development of plans in state institutions in the public and private sectors regarding the legal and political aspects and providing innovative models and experiences to solve various problems.

6- Obtaining international accreditation from colleges and external institutions with advanced global classification.

7- Raising the efficiency of workers and employees in the public and private sectors through curricula and preparation programs for graduation as legal professionals and political advisors.

8- Scientific research has been enhanced by participating in the Elsevier site and launching a dedicated website for our college to publish scientific research.

9- The college journal research has been elevated by launching a dedicated website for our college via the Elsevier site.
